So, the hummingbirds are buzzing away around our house. I put an extra three feeders out this year on top of the two I already had hoping to attract more of these beautiful birds. This particular female hummingbird is very thirsty and comes to feed about every five minutes allowing me some time for a good photo op. These are not bad for my first attempt, but I already know some things I will try for next time I shoot. Number 1: wash the window :) I'm hoping to get some pictures of the males that have been hanging about. They are ruby throated and have bright green feathers. They are more skittish for some reason and don't like the feeder closest to the window. I might need to do some sitting outside to catch them.
