Violet celebrated her third birthday today with a mermaid birthday party. Family and friends came and drove the snowy roads to get here. Violet was so excited that she was up at 5:30... "It's my birthday!!!" She had a great day and is having so much fun playing with her new toys... Lots of Barbies. :)

Fun, Fun, Fun in the Fall

5:19 AM

We have been having a blast this fall with leaves, and trick-or-treating. We went with a Crayola theme this year. Violet is a violet crayon. Penny is "tickle-me-pink" and Ruby is "Screamin' green". I was a crayon box and Shane was an easel. Violet and I drew with crayon on a white t-shirt for him to wear. The picture of the five of us was very tricky to get, but we finally did get one. Hope everyone is enjoying this season as much as we are.

Dad's Birthday and Violet's First Day of Preschool

5:33 PM

Over the weekend we celebrated my dad's 57th birthday with a nice dinner at his house. Violet made him his very own personalized ice cream bowl.

Violet started her first day of preschool today. She had a blast. Her teachers told me that she did so well and really helped ease other students' worries. So proud of our big girl!

Violet's View

5:24 PM

Violet the photographer has had a ball carting around a small digital camera and snapping away at everything she could find. I went through her stash of a million photos and pulled out some. This is the view through Violet's eyes... ;)

Muskegon Family Vacation 2012

4:59 PM

It has been quite some time since I posted last... We just got home from a fabulous vacation in Muskegon, Michigan. The whole Emmons clan rented a house on Mona Lake, which turned out to be a great fishing and sailing lake. We had a lot of fun relaxing and spending time together. The weather was beautiful, except for a couple of rainy (read a book and play the iPad days). We had our second annual Murder Mystery dinner. This year was "Lethal Luau". :) It was a blast. We also celebrated Larry's birthday, which is on August 15th. Violet roasted her first marshmallow and loved to swim in the water and play at the beach. Can't wait for next year!
