Mother's Day 2011

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there! The weather here could not have been nicer. The sun was out and we had a nice day visiting with my mom and her side of the family. First of all, my Mother's Day present was built on Friday. Shane made a little fenced in garden with a feeder post holding hooks for three bird feeders: an oriole feeder, a hummingbird feeder and a seed feeder. He then built an arbor and planted flowers that would attract butterflies and hummingbirds. I LOVE IT! I can see it from the kitchen window and it's beautiful. It was such a nice surprise. I can't wait to get some vines or flowers to put on the arbor. The hummingbirds, orioles and misc. other birds have been visiting the new feeders. Violet made me a beautiful card at Day Care that said, "Mom, you are the best" and on the inside it said "Hands Down" and it had her handprints on it. Another special work of art that graces the refrigerator. :) She also gave me a muffin mix jar. Thank you to Cathy and Anna for helping her with this.

This morning Shane and Violet made a muffin run for me to Tim Hortons and then we went down to Troy to visit my mom at my grandparents house. We then went to Pine Knob Mansion for brunch with the whole family.  It was a very good meal and it was nice to see everyone.

I actually got to see these robin babies hatching in the bush in front of our house. This is when they are about 3 days old.
