Violet and other Pug Tails

Moo, Moo Violet's 2!

Violet is not quite 2 yet for a few more days now, but we had a big celebration with the whole family on the day after Thanksgiving in our home. The theme was cows and Violet looked adorable in her little cow moo moo. :) She was so much more aware this year of the concept of what "birthday" means and was going around the house singing, "Happy Birthday to Me!" a lot of the day. She loved getting to play with her cousin, Matthew and seeing all the family. She received so many great gifts and very much enjoyed her cupcake. ;) She's growing up so fast!

Happy 2nd Birthday to our Sweet Violet! We love you so much.

THE BIG "3-0" FOR SHANE!

On November 28th, Shane turned the big "3-0"! He worked from home that day and received an edible arrangement complete with a pineapple "30" on the top. :) We then went to Famous Dave's for dinner where they brought out a giant sundae complete with roman candle on the top.

On Thanksgiving Day we celebrated Shane's birthday with his family with chili and cornbread that Larry made and raspberry rhubarb pie. Shane was surprised at getting a guitar. He had no idea because I had a lot of help from his parents to keep it secret. :) He's started taking lessons now to learn to play acoustic guitar. He used his birthday gift money to purchase a case and stand for it.

He also got a Robot UNO game that Violet enjoyed playing with.

Violet's Play Set!

Well, it has been awhile since I've posted anything to this blog. I'm catching up today. :) The following pics are of Violet's brand new play set!! We purchased a kit from Sam's Club and with the help of Shane, Larry, Travis and our friend Kurt, it took about three days to build. Violet got a chance to use it a few times before the snow started falling. It's a great set and in the spring we'll complete it with a wood chip enclosure and sand in the sandbox.

Halloween and Sesame Street

We took Violet to see Sesame Street Live at the Dow Theater on Saturday. She LOVED it!! The look on her face when the characters came out on stage was priceless. Our seats were right in front of a large aisle in the middle of the theater so she spent a lot of the time dancing along with the characters. Her favorite? Mr. Noodle! (and Elmo) :)

Shane and I dressed up for a Halloween party this year. Can you guess what we are?

Violet got to play in the leaves a bit this weekend and help carve a pumpkin. It's been a full fall. I think we've made the most of the beautiful weather and Violet is enjoying everything so much. She went Trick-or-Treating (as a veterinarian) for the first time with her friend Megan (as a lady bug). Aside from walking into the first house after saying "Trick-or-Treat" she caught on quickly. The night was perfect weather for walking outside and I think she's already ready to go again.
